I have seen numerous clients who have had this fear of crossing bridges. In some instances clients have been so fearful that they have literally driven miles out of their way to avoid bridges. One client was so distressed that they considered resigning from their job rather than continue to confront this fear. The secret to changing this pattern is to change the patterns of thinking in a precise way to create a new a welcome sense of freedom. I recommend 2-3 sessions for this, and I regularly see clients for it at my Leeds Hypnotherapy practice. I have also worked internationally via Skype with many clients to resolve this problem successfully

In addition to seeing clients in the UK for this specific fear, I have also worked with many overseas clients via Zoom. One client in Dubai was travelling an extra 40 miles a day, travelling to work, having to avoid a particular bridge that was creating so much anxiety that he couldn’t bear to cross it! In this particular instance, it was the way this client was talking to himself that triggered the unhelpful feeling that then resulted.
